Presented by Mazars in association with the Galway Film Fair.
In 2019, the rules changed significantly on the application process for the section 481 Film Tax Credit to hopefully speed up the process. Applications and post completion compliance reports are no longer made to the Revenue for them to confirm the Film Tax Credit available. Instead, everything now goes to the Department of Heritage, Culture and the Gaeltacht.
The Department only deal with the “cultural test”. The certificate no longer states the tax credit available. Instead, it is up to the producer to self-assess the Film Tax Credit available on the project. This can be challenging in the absence of updated guidelines from Revenue , which are expected to issue shortly.
To find out how the new application system will operate join Paul Mee, Tax Partner from Mazars’ Media & Entertainment, at the Galway Film Fair for an in-depth look at the new system.
Following the presentation there will be an opportunity to network and ask any questions you may have.
This is a free event but places are strictly limited.
