Galway Film Fleadh and Galway Film Fair are offering a number of internships across our festival and industry offices. These internships are ideal for individuals new to the sector, seeking to build skills and learn best practice across a range of key areas. They may be of particular interest if you’re considering a career in festival production, arts administration, film or are looking for an opportunity to develop the planning, administration, IT, team-working and communication skills required to operate in an arts administration environment. Throughout your role you’ll get to know who’s who at the Fleadh & Fair, meet many people who share a passion for film and delivering a world-class festival experience.

Overview of role
These roles provide an appreciation of the organisation, planning and resources needed behind a major event. Working in a small team, you will carry out core administrative tasks, whilst also responding to a range of requests from individuals and teams across the festival. You will get to know who does what, how best to reach them, and how to facilitate a busy office. Through the role, you will increase your industry knowledge and gain a valuable overview of how a festival operates.

Person specification
You will need to be good with people – on phones and in person – and be able to juggle a lot of information without losing focus. You must enjoy a busy office environment, work well in a small team and be happy working behind-the-scenes.

Applicants do not need to have prior experience, though knowledge of/interest in the Film Industry will be an asset. Successful candidates will be looking for opportunities to develop new skills and gain experience with a view to pursuing a relevant career either in film, festival organisation or arts administration.
