Each year, we host a series of masterclasses, drawn from across a variety of film industry professions. These masterclasses offer you, the audience, a chance to get up close and personal with and ask questions of successful cinema industry luminaries. Looking for acting tips? Want to find out how the director got that shot? Needing notes on how to progress that script?

Applications open in June.

Alongside our 4 main events, we also host a series of seminars, workshops and debates.

Our Events

The Galway Film Fair

Comprised of events for industry professionals, from entrant to decade-long participant. This event takes place alongside the Galway Film Fleadh in July of each. Events include Ireland’s only film marketplace, an annual state-of-the-industry conference called the Fleadh Forum, a series of filmmaking-craft masterclasses, a script pitching competition and a host of panel discussions, seminars and other talks.

The Galway Film Fleadh

A six day international film event in the West of Ireland, hosting 200+ feature and short films, along with a series of public panel discussions and Q&A sessions in each festival edition. Every July, we welcome a mad diversity of filmmaking from all around the world, here to the very edge of Europe. There are no red carpets at the Galway Film Fleadh, we bring masters of the craft and everyday cinephiles together within an intimate environment to celebrate our shared passion for film.

The Junior Film Fleadh

A film festival to entertain, educate and inform young people, taking place in November of each year. Along with screening a programme of educational syllabus aligned feature films and a programme of young adult orientated new cinema, we host a series of workshops aimed at teaching filmmaking fundamentals.
